A Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) is an enclosed area that is used to process Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) level classified information. Access to SCIFs is severely limited. All of the activity and conversation inside a SCIF is secure and private. SCIF can be used to provide a secure facilities in which to process and store sensitive documents. The purpose of the SCIF determines its particular construction requirements.
