"You can do what you want to do, accomplish what you want to accomplish, attain any reasonable objective you may have in mind -- not all of a sudden, perhaps not in one swift and sweeping act of achievement -- but you can do it gradually, day by day and play by play, if you want to do it, if you work to do it, over a sufficiently long period of time." ~ William E. Holler
Morning. As the news continues to beat us with bad news, if we listen, we can find numerous instances of positive attitude and persistence overpowering negativity. Is it hard? Absolutely. Is it worth the fight? This is the question we must each ask of ourselves. Individually, we each face our own challenges as scarce resources are stretched farther and farther, as we find alternatives and apply creativity to the problems we face.
Committed and Tenacious or Detached and Indifferent. Which combination leads to true and lasting success? Which combination leads to regrets and failure? How can you achieve ANYTHING if you are not 100% committed to its accomplishment? No question, the key to achieving your goals is found in the last sentence of Holler's quote "if you WANT to do it, if you WORK to do it, over a sufficiently long period of TIME." Coupled with commitment and tenacity is a passion for success and the ability or willingness to live in an attitude of gratefulness. For today, keep track of the number of times you say 'thank you' to your family, your co-workers, your friends. Can't find anything for which to be grateful? Look again. Fake it if you have to, but find it and share it. I'm counting on each of you to carry forward with gusto...

"The quality of a person's life is in direct proportion to their commitment to excellence, regardless of their chosen field of endeavor." ~ Vince Lombardi
Morning. Aside from the improper use of 'their' instead of 'his' or 'her' the absolute best advice I can give you today is to study Vince Lombardi's quote. These are not just words. They are a way of life.
If you want to improve the quality of your life, commit to improving the quality of your performance. Look at your life as it is right now. Now look at your future. If you are having a hard time seeing how you can get from here and now, to there and then, you have one (and only one) choice: Commit to a life of Intentional Excellence. The power of commitment is an awesome power. Just think about how your life would turn out if you were truly committed to living your dreams. In fact, don't "think" about it. Just do it!

"It's not whether you get knocked down, it's whether you get up." ~ Vince Lombardi
Morning, all. Feeling stressed? Disappointed, frustrated, worried? When facing disappointment or frustration:
* Take a deep breath, slowly count to fifteen, and think about how you want to affect others. Your responsibility is to lead people out of disappointment rather than into it.
* Take a hike – go on a ten minute walk to calm down, reflect, and develop a bounce back strategy.
* Maintain the proper perspective: it's not the end of the world so don't act like it is. Find one or two positives and keep thinking about them until you feel better. Then move on to other tasks.
When dealing with worries:
* Try celebrating your worries! Create a Worry Jar…each time you have a worry, write it down and place it in the jar. Take time every week to open the jar and worry about all your worries. When you get tired of worrying about something, remove it from the jar. Over time, you'll have fewer and fewer worries.Try it-
